Anastasia A. Pittman (born July 19, 1970) is an American politician from Oklahoma. She is also a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. Since 2021, she has been part of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma General Council, representing the Dosar Barkus Band. Before this, she served in the Oklahoma state government. She was a member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 2006 to 2014. Later, she served in the Oklahoma Senate from 2014 to 2018.

Early Life and Education

Anastasia Pittman was born in Miami, Florida, on July 19, 1970. Her mother was also a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. When she was young, her family often traveled between Miami and Oklahoma City. One summer, her parents were delayed in returning. Her grandmother then enrolled Anastasia and her brother in school in Oklahoma. Her grandmother became her legal guardian, and Anastasia finished high school and college in Oklahoma. She graduated from Star Spencer High School.

College Studies

Anastasia Pittman went to the University of Oklahoma. In 1999, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and public relations. She continued her studies at Langston University. In 2002, she received a Master's degree in Education and Behavioral Science.

Serving in Oklahoma's Government

Anastasia Pittman has held several important roles in Oklahoma's government. She worked to represent the people of her state.

In the House of Representatives

From 2006 to 2014, Anastasia Pittman served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. This is where state laws are made. In 2013, her fellow lawmakers chose her to lead the Legislative Black Caucus. This group works on issues important to the Black community in Oklahoma.

In the Oklahoma Senate

After serving in the House, Pittman was elected to the Oklahoma Senate. She represented the 48th district from 2014 to 2018. The Senate is another part of the state's law-making body.
