Andre Devon Brown, born on May 12, 1981, is a former professional basketball player from America. He played college basketball at DePaul University. After college, he played professionally around the world, including in Europe, Asia, South America, and Australia. He also played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the NBA Development League (now called the G-League). Andre was also part of the USA Basketball World Youth Games team. This team won a gold medal in 1998 and a bronze medal in 1999.

High School Basketball Journey
Andre Brown started his high school basketball career at Brother Rice High School in Chicago. As a sophomore, he moved to Leo Catholic High School. He quickly became a star player there. He helped his new team reach the state championships. During this time, he earned Class A All-State honors. He was the only sophomore to receive this award.
The next year, Leo High School moved up to Class AA due to its larger student population. Andre continued to play amazingly well. He earned All-State honors again. This made him the only player ever to be named All-State in both Class A and Class AA. For his senior year in 1999–2000, Leo moved back to Class A. Andre helped Leo win the Catholic League title. He also earned the prestigious McDonald's All-American honor.
College Basketball Career
Andre Brown played college basketball for the DePaul Blue Demons.
Freshman Year Success
In his first college game, Andre had a "double-double." This means he scored at least 10 points and had at least 10 rebounds. He scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against Lewis University. This was a great start for a freshman. He scored a season-high 19 points against Marquette. In his freshman year, he played 30 games and averaged 6.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
Sophomore Year Highlights
During his second year, Andre became the first DePaul player in a long time to lead his team in several important stats. He led in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, and blocked shots. He was also second in rebounding in the Conference USA league. He set a new Conference USA record by grabbing 27 rebounds in one game against TCU. This was the second-best single-game total in DePaul's history. He averaged 14.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per game that season.
Junior and Senior Seasons
In his junior year, Andre was chosen for the Preseason All-Conference USA team. He continued to get many double-doubles. One of his best games was 20 points and 11 rebounds against UNLV. He averaged 9.4 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.
For his senior year, Andre was again named to the Conference USA All-Preseason team. He earned second-team All-Conference USA honors. He was named C-USA Player of the Week twice. He averaged 13.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.
Andre finished his college career as one of the best rebounders in Conference USA history. He is one of only eight players at DePaul to score over 1,000 points and grab over 800 rebounds.
Professional Basketball Journey
After college, Andre Brown began his professional basketball career. He played for many teams around the world.
Early Professional Years (2004–2006)
Andre was not chosen in the 2004 NBA draft. However, he joined the Cleveland Cavaliers for the NBA Summer League. He later signed with the New Jersey Nets but was waived. He then played in Italy for Sedima Roseto and in Montenegro for Budućnost Podgorica. In 2005, he also played a few games for the Barangay Ginebra Kings in the Philippines.
In 2005, he joined the Seattle SuperSonics for the NBA Summer League. He then played in South Korea for the Daegu Orions and later for the Incheon ET Land Black Slamer.
NBA and D-League Experience (2006–2009)
In 2006, Andre played in the NBA Summer League for the San Antonio Spurs. He signed with the Atlanta Hawks but was later waived. He was then picked by the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the 2006 NBA Development League Draft. He played very well, averaging 22.8 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. He even earned D-League Player of the Week honors.
Because of his strong play, Andre signed a contract with the Seattle SuperSonics in January 2007. He played 38 games for them. In July 2007, he signed with the Memphis Grizzlies. He played 33 games for the Grizzlies during the 2007–08 season.
In September 2008, Andre signed with the Charlotte Bobcats. He played four games before being waived. He then joined the Austin Toros in the NBA Development League. Later, he played for Banvit Bandırma in Turkey.
Playing Around the World (2009–2015)
Andre continued his global basketball journey. In 2009, he played for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Summer League. He then signed with the Zhejiang Golden Bulls in China.
In 2010, he played for Leones de Ponce in Puerto Rico and Al Jalaa Aleppo in Syria. He also had another short stint with the New Jersey Nets in 2010 but was waived before the season started. He then played for Panellinios B.C. in Greece.
In January 2011, Andre joined the Perth Wildcats in Australia. He was initially a short-term replacement but stayed for the rest of the season. He averaged 9.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game for the Wildcats.
