Andre Devon Brown, born on May 12, 1981, is a former American professional basketball player. He played college basketball at DePaul University. After college, he played professionally in many different parts of the world. He played in Europe, Asia, South America, and Australia. He also played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the NBA Development League. Andre was also part of the USA Basketball World Youth Games team. This team won a gold medal in 1998 and a bronze medal in 1999.

High School Basketball Journey
Andre Brown started his high school basketball career at Brother Rice High School in Chicago. As a sophomore, he moved to Leo Catholic High School. There, he led his new team to the state tournament. He also earned "Class A All-State" honors. He was the only sophomore to get this award.
The next year, Leo Catholic moved up to Class AA. Andre kept playing great and earned All-State honors again. This made him the only player ever to be All-State in both Class A and AA. For his senior year in 1999–2000, Leo Catholic went back to Class A. Andre helped his team win the Catholic League title. He was also named a McDonald's All-American.
College Basketball Career
Andre Brown played college basketball for the DePaul Blue Demons.
Freshman Year (2000-2001)
In his first college game, Andre scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. This was a "double-double" (double digits in two stats). He was one of the first DePaul newcomers since 1992 to achieve this. He played 30 games, starting six of them. He averaged 6.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
Sophomore Year (2001-2002)
During his second year, Andre became the first DePaul player since 1988–89 to lead his team in four categories. These were scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, and blocked shots. He set a record in his conference with 27 rebounds in one game against TCU. This was the second-best single-game total in DePaul history. He averaged 14.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
Junior Year (2002-2003)
Before his junior season, Andre was chosen for the Preseason All-Conference USA team. He had several double-doubles that year. One of his best games was against UNLV, where he scored 20 points and had 11 rebounds. He averaged 9.4 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.
Senior Year (2003-2004)
In his final year, Andre was named to the second-team All-Conference USA. He was also named "C-USA Player of the Week" twice. He averaged 13.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.
Andre finished his college career with 855 rebounds, which was fourth in Conference USA history. He was one of only eight players in DePaul history to score over 1,000 points and grab over 800 rebounds.
Professional Basketball Journey
After college, Andre Brown began his professional basketball career. He played for many teams around the world.
Early Professional Years (2004-2006)
Andre was not chosen in the 2004 NBA draft. He joined the Cleveland Cavaliers for the NBA Summer League. He later signed with the New Jersey Nets but was waived. He then played in Italy for Sedima Roseto and in Montenegro for Budućnost Podgorica. In 2005, he played seven games for the Barangay Ginebra Kings in the Philippines.
He also played in South Korea for the Daegu Orions and the Incheon ET Land Black Slamer.
NBA and D-League Experience (2006-2008)
In 2006, Andre joined the San Antonio Spurs for the NBA Summer League. He signed with the Atlanta Hawks but was later waived. He was then drafted by the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the 2006 NBA Development League Draft. He played very well for the Skyforce, averaging 22.8 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. He even won "D-League Player of the Week."
His strong play led him to sign with the Seattle SuperSonics in January 2007. He played 38 games for them. In July 2007, he signed with the Memphis Grizzlies. He played 33 games for the Grizzlies during the 2007–08 season.
Later Career and International Play (2008-2015)
In 2008, Andre signed with the Charlotte Bobcats, playing four games. He then played for the Austin Toros in the NBA Development League. After that, he moved to Turkey to play for Banvit Bandırma.
He continued his international career, playing for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls in China in 2009. In 2010, he played in Puerto Rico for Leones de Ponce and in Syria for Al Jalaa Aleppo.
In 2010, he briefly rejoined the New Jersey Nets for Summer League but was waived again. He then played in Greece for Panellinios B.C.. In 2011, he moved to Australia to play for the Perth Wildcats. He helped the Wildcats reach the semi-finals.
Andre also played in the Dominican Republic for Huracanes del Atlántico in 2011. He then played in Iran for Shahrdari Gorgan (2011–2012) and returned to South Korea to play for the KCC Egis (2012–2013).
His career continued with short stints in Uruguay for Club Atlético Atenas (2013) and Japan for the Sendai 89ers (2014). He finished his professional career playing for Al-Ahli in Bahrain (2014) and the Dundgovi Hawks in Mongolia (2014–2015).
