About Andrea Sartoretti
Andrea Sartoretti was born in Perugia, Italy. He started playing in Italy's top volleyball league in 1991. Right away, he won an award for being the best player under 23 years old! Andrea is 1.94 meters (about 6 feet 4 inches) tall. He usually played as an opposite hitter, which is a key attacking position in volleyball. People called him Sartorace because of his super strong serves.
His Amazing Career
Andrea played for several top clubs in Italy. He won one Italian national title in 1997 with Pallavolo Modena. He also won three CEV Champions League titles, which is a huge European club competition. Plus, he won two European Supercups while playing for Messaggero Ravenna from 1991 to 1996.
Andrea first played for the Italian national team in 1993. He helped Italy win many big tournaments! He won four World Leagues, and was even named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) twice. He also won two European Championships (in 2001 and 2003) and a World Championship in 1998.
Andrea Sartoretti is also an Olympic hero! He won two silver medals and one bronze medal at three different Olympic Games between 1996 and 2004. He played 330 games for the Italian national team, which is a lot!
He stopped playing volleyball professionally in 2009. Today, he is part of the general management team for Modena Volley, one of the clubs he played for.

- 2004 Summer Olympics "Best Server": He was the top server at the Olympic Games.

- 2004 World League "Most Valuable Player": He was again the best player in the World League.
