Early Days and Youth Career
Andreas Pereira's father, Marcos Pereira, was also a professional footballer from Brazil. Andreas was born in Duffel, Belgium, because his father was playing there at the time.
He joined PSV Eindhoven in 2005 when he was just nine years old. In 2011, Andreas played very well in a tournament called the Manchester United Premier Cup. This made many big English clubs, like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool, interested in him. However, a visit from Manchester United's manager, Alex Ferguson, in November 2011 convinced Andreas to join the Old Trafford club.
Because of rules about international transfers, Andreas couldn't officially join Manchester United until his 16th birthday on January 1, 2012. His first game for Manchester United was delayed until April 2012. He played for the under-18 team, and later became a regular player for them in the 2012–13 season. He scored five goals in 20 games.
On January 7, 2013, shortly after turning 17, Andreas signed his first professional contract. For the 2013–14 season, he was made captain of Manchester United's team for the 2013 Milk Cup. He was even named the best player of the tournament! He played a lot for both the under-18 and under-21 teams. He also scored two goals in the FA Youth Cup.
First Team Appearances (2014–2016)
Andreas started the 2014–15 season by winning a trophy with Manchester United. They beat Manchester City 4–1 in the final of the Manchester Senior Cup. He made his first game for the senior team a few weeks later in August 2014.
On March 15, 2015, Andreas made his Premier League debut against Tottenham Hotspur. He came on as a substitute in a 3–0 win for United. On May 1, he signed a new contract with Manchester United. A few days later, he was voted Manchester United's best under-21 player for the 2014–15 season.
On July 21, 2015, Andreas scored his first goal for Manchester United's senior team in a friendly match. He scored his first goal in a real competition on September 23, 2015. It was a free kick in a 3–0 win against Ipswich Town in the League Cup.
Loan Spells in Spain and Italy
On August 26, 2016, Andreas joined the Spanish club Granada on loan for a season. He played his first game in La Liga two days later. He scored his first goal for Granada on December 3, helping them win 2–1 against Sevilla FC. He scored again on February 6, 2017, with a great long-range shot.
On September 1, 2017, Andreas moved to another Spanish club, Valencia, also on a season-long loan. He made his debut eight days later. He scored his only goal for Valencia on October 15, with another long-range shot in a big 6–3 win against Real Betis.
Later, on October 2, 2020, Andreas joined the Italian club Lazio on loan for a season. He scored his first Serie A goal on November 1, 2020, in a 4–3 away win against Torino.
Loan to Flamengo (2021–2022)

On August 20, 2021, Andreas joined Flamengo in Brazil on a one-year loan. In the final of the Copa Libertadores 2021, he made a mistake that led to Flamengo losing the game. However, he later helped Flamengo win the Copa Libertadores in the 2022 season. He also won the 2022 Copa Do Brasil with Flamengo, which was a great way to end his time there.
Joining Fulham
On July 11, 2022, Fulham announced that they had signed Andreas Pereira. He signed a four-year contract. He played his first game for Fulham on August 6, in a 2–2 draw against Liverpool. On April 30, 2023, Andreas broke his ankle, which meant he couldn't play for the rest of the season. The club said he would need an operation and would be back later in the year.
Andreas Pereira's International Career
Andreas Pereira was born in Belgium, but his parents are Brazilian. This meant he could choose to play for either Belgium or Brazil. He first played for Belgium's youth teams (under-15, under-16, and under-17). However, he later said, "My heart is Brazilian."
In 2014, he was called up to play for Brazil's under-20 team. He helped them win the 2014 Panda Cup in China. At the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand, Andreas scored a goal in the final against Serbia. Brazil, however, lost the match 2–1 after extra time. He scored two goals in seven games for the under-20 team. He also played one game and scored one goal for Brazil's under-23 team in a friendly match in March 2016.
On August 17, 2018, Andreas was called up to the senior Brazil national team for the first time. He made his debut against El Salvador on September 11. He was the first player in over 100 years to play for Brazil after being born outside of the country!
