Andrew "Blueblood" McMahon (born April 12, 1926 – died February 17, 1984) was an American musician. He was a talented bass guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Andrew McMahon was known for playing Chicago blues music. He played bass guitar for the famous blues artist Howlin' Wolf for more than ten years. He also helped many other blues musicians in Chicago by playing on their recordings. Some of his most famous songs include "Lost in the Jungle" and "Worried All the Time." These songs can be found on different music collections.

Biography
Andrew "Blueblood" McMahon was born in Delhi, Louisiana, United States. In 1949, he moved to Chicago, Illinois. He started playing in blues clubs across Chicago in the early 1950s.
Playing with Howlin' Wolf
McMahon began playing in Howlin' Wolf's band in 1960. He recorded with Wolf from 1964 to 1973. During this time, McMahon played bass on Wolf's song, "Killing Floor" (1964). He also played on Wolf's albums, The Real Folk Blues (1966) and The Back Door Wolf (1973).
Other Recordings
In 1960, McMahon played bass guitar for Morris Pejoe's song "She Walked Right In." He also played bass on Freddy Young's song, "Someday Baby" (1964).
Solo Music Career
In 1973, McMahon recorded his first solo album, Blueblood, in Chicago. It was released by Dharma Records. Other musicians like Homesick James and Hubert Sumlin helped him on this album. He also released a song called "Guitar King" from this album. However, his solo career did not become very famous after this.
In 1977, his second album, Go Get My Baby, came out. This album was recorded live in Chicago blues clubs. Aron Burton played bass on some songs. This allowed McMahon to focus on his singing. Other guitarists like Jimmy Dawkins also played on the album. McMahon wrote five of the fourteen songs on the album. It also included famous blues songs like "It Hurts Me Too" and "Got My Mojo Working".
Some of McMahon's live performances appeared on a compilation album called The Chicago Blues Box 2. Four of his studio recordings were also on another collection called Cadillac Baby's Bea & Baby Records: The Definitive Collection.
Andrew McMahon passed away in Monroe, Louisiana, in February 1984. He was 57 years old. A tribute to him was published in Living Blues magazine later that year.
