About Andrew Klavan
His Early Life
Andrew Klavan was born in New York City. He grew up on Long Island, in a town called Great Neck. His father, Gene Klavan, was a famous radio DJ in New York. His mother, Phyllis, took care of their home. Andrew was one of four sons.
He went to the University of California, Berkeley. There, he studied English Literature. Before becoming a full-time writer, he worked as a reporter for radio and newspapers. He also wrote news for radio stations.
Family Life
In 1980, Andrew Klavan married Ellen Flanagan. Her father, Thomas Flanagan, was also a writer. Her sister is Caitlin Flanagan. Andrew and Ellen have two children. They live in Nashville, Tennessee.
His Spiritual Journey
When Andrew Klavan was 49, he became a Christian. He was baptized privately. He first joined the Episcopal Church. Later, he decided to join the Anglican Catholic Church. He wrote a book about his spiritual journey called The Great Good Thing.
