Andrew Lewis (born December 14, 1970 – died May 4, 2015) was a famous boxer from Guyana. He was known for being a professional boxer and even became the WBA World Welterweight Champion. He also represented his country in the 1992 Summer Olympics as a welterweight boxer.

Pro Career Highlights
Andrew Lewis was nicknamed "Six Heads." He started his professional boxing career in 1993. He quickly became popular because of his exciting fighting style. He was known for having strong punches with both hands.
Becoming WBA Welterweight Champion
In 2001, Andrew Lewis fought James Page. Andrew won this fight and became the WBA Welterweight Champion. This was a very big achievement for him.
After winning the title, he successfully defended it against Larry Marks. His next fight was against Ricardo Mayorga. This match ended in the second round. It was called a "No Contest" because Andrew got a bad cut from an accidental headbutt.
In 2002, Andrew had a rematch with Mayorga. This time, he lost his WBA title in the fifth round.
Challenging for the WBO Title
In 2003, Andrew Lewis tried to win another major title. He challenged Antonio Margarito for the WBO Welterweight Championship. However, Andrew lost this fight in the second round.
Winning the Guyanese Title
From 2005 to 2007, Andrew Lewis had three important fights against Denny Dalton. These fights were for the Guyanese Light Middleweight Title. In their second fight, Andrew had to stop fighting in the seventh round.
But Andrew Lewis did not give up. About a year later, he fought Denny Dalton again. This time, Andrew won the fight and claimed the Guyanese Light Middleweight Title. This victory was the last one of his boxing career. His career officially ended in October 2008 after a close fight against Howard Eastman.

Death
On May 4, 2015, Andrew Lewis was riding his bicycle in Hope, Guyana. He was involved in a collision with a car. He suffered serious head injuries and sadly passed away at a local hospital.
