Andrew Trimble, born on October 20, 1984, is a famous former Irish rugby union player. He played for the Ulster team and also represented Ireland in international matches.

Andrew Trimble's Club Career
Andrew Trimble went to Coleraine Academical Institution. There, he played in the Ulster Schools Cup, a big rugby competition for schools.
He played for Ulster Rugby as an outside centre or on the wing. In April 2006, he signed a new three-year deal with Ulster. Trimble also played club rugby for Ballymena RFC in the AIB League. He also played for the Ireland Schools and the Ireland Under-21 team.
Andrew had some injuries during his career. He needed surgery for a groin injury and also had a hernia operation. In 2009, he had surgery on his right knee.
In May 2018, Trimble announced he was retiring from professional rugby. This was at the end of the 2017–18 season. However, he still plays rugby sometimes for his local club in Coleraine.
Andrew Trimble's International Career
Andrew Trimble made his first appearance for the Ireland national rugby union team in 2005. He played against Australia during the IRB Autumn Internationals. He replaced an injured player, Brian O'Driscoll, in that game. The next week, he started against Romania and scored two tries, helping Ireland win.
Trimble continued to play well for Ireland. He was part of the team for the 2006 Six Nations Championship. He scored his third try for Ireland against France in that tournament. He also played in the 2007 Rugby World Cup and the 2008 season. During these years, he played both on the wing and in the centre. Due to injuries, he missed Ireland's summer tours in 2008 and 2009.
He scored tries for Ireland in the 2011 Rugby World Cup and the 2012 Six Nations Championship.
Trimble was a key player in the 2014 Six Nations Championship. He scored three tries in total during this tournament. One very important try came in the final game against France in Paris. This try helped Ireland win the championship title!
In September 2015, Trimble was not chosen for the Ireland squad for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Andrew Trimble's Personal Life
Andrew Trimble went to Coleraine Academical Institution for school. After that, he started studying physics at Queen's University Belfast. However, after a year, he decided to change his studies. He then went to Belfast Bible College to study Theology.
He is a big fan of the football club Liverpool F.C.. Andrew married his wife, Anna, in March 2009.
Andrew Trimble is a Christian. He often reads Psalm 84 from the Bible before each rugby match to prepare himself.
He has both British and Irish passports.
