Andrews Tavern (Spotsylvania County, Virginia) facts for kids
Andrews Tavern is an old and important building in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. It was first built in 1815 for a man named Samuel Andrews. Later, around 1848, a wooden part was added to the brick house to make it a tavern. A tavern was like an inn or a pub where people could eat, drink, and stay the night. Even though the new part was added, there was no way to go from the old house to the new tavern inside.
The building shows a style of design called Federal provincial architecture. This was a popular building style in the United States during the early 1800s.
