Android 18 (Japanese: 人造人間18号, Hepburn: Jinzōningen Jū Hachi Gō, lit. "Artificial Human #18") is a powerful character from the Dragon Ball manga and anime series. She was created by Akira Toriyama. Android 18 first appeared in a comic book chapter called "The Androids Awake!" on November 12, 1991.

She and her twin brother, Android 17, were changed into special human-like machines called cyborgs. This was done by a scientist named Dr. Gero. He wanted them to help him get revenge on Goku. However, Android 18 wasn't very interested in Dr. Gero's plans. She later became a main character in the series. She even married Goku's best friend, Krillin.

In Japan, the voice of Android 18 for all Dragon Ball anime and related games is Miki Itō. She has voiced the character for many years.

For the English versions, Meredith McCoy voiced Android 18 in Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT. In Dragon Ball Z Kai, another actress, Colleen Clinkenbeard, took over the role. But since the movie Battle of Gods, Meredith McCoy has returned to voice Android 18. There is also another English version where Tamara Ryan voices her.

Even though she is called an "Android" or "Cyborg," Android 18 is mostly human. A character named Bulma found out that Android 17 and 18 were originally human. But their bodies were greatly improved with special parts.

Their only mechanical parts are small devices. One was for turning them off, and another was a self-destruct device, which was later removed. They also have a special energy reactor inside them. This reactor gives them endless energy and stamina. This means they never get tired!

In Dragon Ball Super, it's explained that the androids were changed at a very tiny level. This made them super-strong and fast. They are like superhumans because of these changes.
