Androula Henriques is a brave woman from Cyprus. She is known for her important work helping people, especially those who are in difficult situations. She has received awards for her efforts to protect human rights.

Early Life and Education

Androula Henriques was born in the city of Nicosia in 1936. She moved to Geneva, a city in Switzerland, to study. There, she focused on child psychology, which is the study of how children grow and learn.

She even worked with a very famous expert named Jean Piaget at the University of Geneva. Jean Piaget was well-known for his ideas about how children's minds develop. Androula Henriques wrote three books about his ideas on teaching methods.

Fighting for Human Rights

Androula Henriques has spent much of her life working to help others. She has been a strong voice against people being forced into bad situations. She led an organization from 2012 until 2018.

In 2008, her group organized a big meeting in Cyprus. This meeting was about stopping people from being exploited. Important people from the United States and Europe came to speak. Police, government officials, and many other groups also joined to discuss how to help.
