Andrzej Wincenty Górski (born August 15, 1920 – died November 22, 2017) was a smart Polish professor. He taught Inorganic Chemistry at the Warsaw University of Technology. He was famous for creating a new way to understand and sort chemical elements and compounds.

He wrote many research papers and books about how to organize chemicals. He also wrote textbooks like "General Chemistry."

Professor Górski came up with a special periodic table that looked at the "cores" of atoms. He also created a simple, clear way to define acids, bases, oxidants (chemicals that cause oxidation), and reducers (chemicals that cause reduction). These ideas helped create a new system for grouping chemical substances based on their structure.

His classification system was tested and proven in many experiments. These studies looked at how chemical compounds break down when heated, a process called thermal decomposition. While working on this system, he developed a new version of the periodic table. This "Atomic Core Based Periodic System of Elements" works well with his classification and fixes some known issues in the usual atom-based periodic table.

Biography

Andrzej Wincenty Górski was born in Warsaw, Poland, on August 15, 1920. His father, Marian Górski, was a well-known expert in agriculture and chemistry.

Andrzej Górski studied at the Warsaw University of Technology. He finished his degree in Chemistry in 1947. He then earned his doctorate degree there in 1952.

In 1965, he became a professor of Inorganic Chemistry. Professor Górski was also the Dean of the Department of Chemistry at the Warsaw University of Technology from 1973 to 1980. He was involved in many important chemical societies and projects in Poland. He passed away in November 2017 when he was 97 years old.
