André Leducq was a famous French cyclist. He was born on February 27, 1904, and passed away on June 18, 1980. André is best known for winning the difficult Tour de France race twice. He also won a gold medal at the 1924 Summer Olympics and a big race called Paris–Roubaix.

André Leducq was born in a town called Saint-Ouen, France. He started his cycling journey as an amateur rider. In 1924, he became a world champion in amateur cycling. This was a huge achievement for him.

In 1927, André became a professional cyclist. This meant he could race for a living. The very next year, he won the famous Paris–Roubaix race. He also finished second in the Tour de France that year. People loved him because he was not only a great rider but also very funny. His nickname was "Le joyeux Dédé" which means "The joyful Dédé."

André Leducq won the Tour de France two times, in 1930 and 1932. He also won 25 individual stages in the Tour de France throughout his career. A stage is one part of the multi-day race. This number of stage wins is one of the highest in Tour de France history. Only a few other legendary cyclists have won more stages than him. He also won other important races like Paris–Tours in 1931.

After he stopped racing, André Leducq didn't leave the world of cycling. He started his own professional cycling team. His team competed in races during the 1950s.
