Andrés Bayron Silva Lemos (born March 27, 1986) is a famous Uruguayan track athlete. He was born in Tacuarembó, Uruguay. Andrés is known for his amazing speed and skill in running.
He started his career competing in events that combine different track and field skills. These are called combined events. Later, he decided to focus on specific races. He became a specialist in the 400 metres and 400 metres hurdles.
Andrés Silva has represented Uruguay in many big competitions. He even competed in the Olympic Games several times. He ran the 400 metres at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics. Later, he switched to the 400 metres hurdles for the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics.
He was also chosen to be Uruguay's flagbearer at the 2007 Pan American Games. This is a special honor for an athlete. It means he led his country's team during the opening ceremony.
