Andrew Joseph Cohen, born on June 2, 1968, is a well-known American TV and radio host. He is also a producer and a writer. He is famous for hosting and producing The Real Housewives TV shows. He also hosts Watch What Happens Live!, a popular late-night talk show on Bravo. Andy also has a two-hour radio show with John Hill on Sirius XM radio.
Before 2013, Cohen was an executive at Bravo, where he helped create new shows and find new talent. He was also a producer for the cooking show Top Chef, which won an award. He hosted the TV dating show Love Connection too. Andy Cohen has won several awards for his work, including a Primetime Emmy Award and two Peabody Awards.

Early Life and Education
Andy Cohen was born in St. Louis, Missouri. His parents are Evelyn and Lou Cohen. He has one sister named Emily Rosenfeld. Andy graduated from Clayton High School in 1986.
He then went to Boston University. There, he earned a degree in broadcast journalism. While at college, Cohen wrote for the student newspaper, The Daily Free Press. He also gained early experience by working as an intern at CBS News.

Andy Cohen started his career as an intern at CBS News. He worked there for 10 years. During his time at CBS, he became a senior producer for shows like The Early Show and 48 Hours. He also produced for CBS This Morning.
In 2000, he joined a TV network called Trio. Later, in 2004, he became a vice president at Bravo when Bravo bought Trio.
Hosting and TV Appearances
Cohen often appeared as a guest on popular morning shows like Today and Morning Joe. He also co-hosted Live! with Kelly and The View. Andy has played himself in TV shows such as The Comeback and Saturday Night Live.
In the summer of 2009, Cohen began hosting a weekly talk show called Watch What Happens Live. This show later became a nightly series due to its popularity.
Writing and Books
Andy Cohen is also a successful author. His first book, Most Talkative, came out in May 2012. This book became a New York Times best-selling book.
In November 2014, he released his second book, The Andy Cohen Diaries: A Deep Look at a Shallow Year. This book was inspired by another famous diary. The Andy Cohen Diaries also became a Times best-seller.
His third book, Superficial: More Adventures From the Andy Cohen Diaries, was published in November 2016. This book continued his diary entries for two more years. Superficial also became a best-seller among books written by celebrities.
Radio and Live Shows
On September 14, 2015, SiriusXM launched a new radio channel called Radio Andy. Andy Cohen helped create this channel. He hosts shows on it, like "Andy Cohen Live" and "Andy Cohen's Deep & Shallow." The channel also features shows hosted by other famous people.
Cohen and his friend Anderson Cooper started a live stage show called AC2 in March 2015. They travel around the country performing this conversational show. The idea for the show came after Cooper interviewed Cohen about his book. By October 2018, they had performed in over 50 cities.
Recent TV Projects
In 2017, Fox brought back the show Love Connection with Cohen as the host. The show first aired on May 25. Fox renewed Love Connection for a second season later that year.
Since 2017, Cohen has also co-hosted CNN's New Year's Eve coverage with Anderson Cooper. He has also appeared as a guest judge on the TV show RuPaul's Drag Race. In 2018, he played himself on the show Riverdale.
Personal Life
Andy Cohen is the first openly gay host of an American late-night talk show. In December 2018, he shared that he would become a father in 2019. His son, Ben, was born on February 4, 2019. His daughter, Lucy, was born on April 29, 2022.
Cohen has spoken about being a "proud American Jew." He participated in a meeting for Jewish influencers in 2024.
