Angela Angel, born on December 26, 1979, is an American politician. She represented District 25 in the Maryland House of Delegates from 2015 to 2019. She is a member of the Democratic Party. In 2022, she ran for a seat in the United States House of Representatives for Maryland's 4th congressional district.

About Angela Angel

Angela Angel was born in South Bend, Indiana. She went to Hampton University in Virginia for her first degree. Later, she earned her law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University in 2004. She studied how to resolve disagreements peacefully.

After law school, she worked for a judge in New York from 2004 to 2005. She became a lawyer in New York in 2005.

Getting Started in Politics

Angela Angel first became involved in politics in 2000. She worked for a state representative in Virginia. In 2010, she helped Governor Martin O'Malley with policy in Prince George's County, Maryland. She also worked for the Prince George's County Delegation, helping with laws.

From 2011 to 2014, she worked for the Prince George's County Council. She focused on education and social services. After that, she worked for the county's Department of Environmental Protection.

Time in the Legislature

From 2015 to 2019, Angela Angel served in the Maryland House of Delegates. This is part of Maryland's state government that makes laws. She was part of the Health and Government Operations committee. On December 20, 2021, Angela Angel announced she would run for the United States House of Representatives. She sought the Democratic nomination for Maryland's 4th congressional district. The election took place on July 19, 2022. She placed third in the primary election.
