Angela Wynter (born 14 July 1957) is an actress from Jamaica and the United Kingdom. She is famous for playing Yolande Trueman in the BBC TV show EastEnders. She was on the show from 2003 to 2008, then again in 2017, and returned in 2023. In 2021, she also joined another BBC show called Doctors for a few months, playing Makeda Sylvester.

About Angela Wynter
Angela Wynter was born on 14 July 1957 in Kingston, Jamaica. Later, she moved to the United Kingdom, settling in Hinckley, Leicestershire.
Her very first acting job was in a play called Meetings. In this play, she acted alongside Rudolph Walker, who would later play her husband on EastEnders. Angela Wynter also received praise for her role as Mout in a play called To Rahtid in 1996.
Her TV Roles
In 2003, Angela Wynter got the part of Yolande Trueman in the BBC show EastEnders. She based the character of Yolande on her sister, Merlene. She left the show in 2008 but came back for a short visit in 2017. She then returned to the show for good in 2023.
Angela Wynter has appeared in many other popular TV shows. In 2017, she was in the BBC drama Death in Paradise. In 2019, she appeared in the ITV drama Vera. In 2021, she played Makeda Sylvester in the BBC soap opera Doctors.
In November 2023, it was announced that Angela Wynter would join the famous science fiction show Doctor Who. She plays Cherry Sunday, who is the adopted grandmother of the new companion, Ruby Sunday.
