Eurovision Song Contest 2005
Angelica Agurbash was chosen to represent Belarus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005. This big music competition was held in Kyiv, Ukraine. Her first song for the contest was Boys and Girls.
However, the Belarusian TV channel decided to let her sing a different song. This was a very unusual decision. She then worked with two famous composers. One was Svika Pick, who wrote the winning song for Eurovision 1998. The other was Nikos Terzis, who wrote a hit song for the group Antique.
After thinking carefully, Angelica chose the song Love Me Tonight. This change created a lot of excitement around her entry. She also wore a special "transformer dress" for her performance. Many people thought she would do very well in the contest. However, she did not make it past the semi-finals. Her song "Love Me Tonight" finished 13th out of 25 entries in the semi-final round.
