Angelo Domenghini is a famous Italian football player and manager. He was born on August 25, 1941. He played as a forward, often on the right side of the field. He was known for his amazing skill with the ball and his ability to score goals.
Angelo Domenghini played for the Italian national team. He helped them win the UEFA Euro 1968 championship. He also played in the 1970 FIFA World Cup, where Italy finished second. After his playing career, he became a football manager for several clubs.

Angelo Domenghini's Club Career
Angelo Domenghini started his football journey in 1960. He began his professional career with his local team, Atalanta. In 1963, he helped Atalanta win the Coppa Italia, a big Italian cup. He was the top scorer in that tournament. He even scored three goals in the final match!
In 1964, Domenghini joined Inter Milan. This was a very successful team known as "Grande Inter". With Inter, he played 164 games and scored 54 goals. He won two Serie A titles, which are Italy's top league championships. He also won two Intercontinental Cups and one European Cup. These were major international club trophies.
Later, he moved to Cagliari in 1969. There, he played alongside other great players like Gigi Riva. Together, they helped Cagliari win their first-ever Serie A title in the 1969–70 season. This was a huge achievement for the club.
After Cagliari, Domenghini played for A.S. Roma for one season. Then he joined Verona in 1974. He helped Verona get promoted to Serie A in 1975. He played one more season in Serie A with Foggia. He then played in lower divisions before retiring in 1979. In total, he played 390 games in Serie A and scored 98 goals.

Angelo Domenghini played for the Italian national team 33 times. He scored 8 goals for his country between 1963 and 1972. One of his most famous moments was in the UEFA Euro 1968 final. Italy was playing against Yugoslavia. Domenghini scored a powerful goal from a free-kick in the 80th minute. This goal tied the game 1-1. It was Italy's first goal ever in a European Championship final!
Italy went on to win the replay match 2-0, becoming European Champions. Domenghini was recognized for his great play and was named to the "Team of the Tournament."
He also played in the 1970 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. He scored a goal in Italy's first game, a 1-0 win against Sweden. This helped Italy move forward in the tournament. Italy reached the final match, but they lost to Brazil. Even so, reaching the World Cup final was a big accomplishment.
