Angelo Domenghini was a famous Italian football player. He was born on August 25, 1941. He played as a forward, often on the right side of the field. He was known for his speed, skill, and ability to score goals.

Angelo Domenghini played for the Italian national team. He helped them win the UEFA Euro 1968 tournament. He also played in the 1970 FIFA World Cup, where Italy finished second. After his playing career, he became a football manager for several clubs.

Angelo Domenghini started his football journey in 1960. He began with his hometown club, Atalanta. In 1963, he helped Atalanta win the Coppa Italia cup. He was the top scorer in that tournament. He even scored three goals in the final match!

In 1964, he joined Inter Milan, a very strong team. He was part of the famous "Grande Inter" squad. With Inter, he won two Serie A titles, which are like national championships. He also won two Intercontinental Cups and one European Cup. These were big international club trophies. He played 164 games for Inter and scored 54 goals.

Later, he moved to Cagliari. There, he formed a great attacking team with Gigi Riva and Sergio "Bobo" Gori. Together, they won the Serie A title in the 1969–70 season. This was a huge achievement for Cagliari.

After Cagliari, he played for A.S. Roma for one season. Then he moved to Verona and helped them get promoted to Serie A. He finished his top-level career with Foggia. He then played a few more seasons in lower divisions before retiring in 1979. In total, he played 390 games in Serie A, scoring 98 goals.

Angelo Domenghini played 33 times for the Italian national team. He scored 8 goals for his country between 1963 and 1972.

He played in the UEFA Euro 1968 tournament, which Italy hosted. In the final, Italy was losing 1–0 to Yugoslavia. Domenghini scored a powerful free-kick goal in the 80th minute. This goal tied the game and was Italy's first ever goal in a European Championship final. Italy won the replay match 2–0 and lifted their first European Championship trophy! Domenghini was even chosen for the "Team of the Tournament."

He also played in the 1970 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. He scored a goal in Italy's first game against Sweden. This helped Italy move forward in the tournament. Italy reached the final but lost to a very strong Brazil team.
