Angelo Schiavio (born October 15, 1905 – died September 17, 1990) was a famous Italian footballer. He played as a forward, which means he was a main goal scorer. Schiavio spent his whole career playing for Bologna. This was the team from his hometown.

He helped Bologna win four league titles. Schiavio is also the club's all-time top goalscorer. He won the 1934 FIFA World Cup with the Italian national team. He was the second-highest scorer in that tournament. He also won two Central European International Cups. In 1928, he earned a bronze medal at the Summer Olympics with Italy. After he stopped playing, he became a manager. He coached both Bologna and the Italian national team.

Many people think he was one of Italy's best strikers. He was fast, scored many goals, was strong, and had great skills. In 2012, he was added to the Italian Football Hall of Fame. Schiavio passed away in 1990 at age 84. He was the last player alive from Italy's 1934 World Cup winning team.

Schiavio played his entire football career for Bologna. He joined the first team in the 1922–23 season. He was only 17 years old when he played his first game. At that time, the Italian league was set up in different regional groups.

He quickly became a regular player by age 19. In 1925, Bologna won their first league championship. Schiavio scored 16 goals in 27 games that season. In the 1928–29 season, Bologna won their second championship. Schiavio had an amazing season, scoring 30 goals in 26 games. This was his best scoring year in Italy.

The Serie A format, which is still used today, started in the 1929–30 season. Schiavio played his first Serie A game in October 1929. His first Serie A goal came in November of that year. In the 1931–32 season, he scored 25 goals. This made him the top scorer in Serie A, winning the Capocannonieri award. Bologna won two more league titles in 1936 and 1937. Schiavio played his last season in 1938–39.

He played for Bologna for 16 seasons. He won four league titles with the club. Schiavio played 361 games for Bologna. He scored 249 goals in total. He holds the club record for goals in the Italian league, with 242 goals. Of these, 109 were scored in the Serie A format.

Schiavio first played for the Italy national football team in November 1925. He was 20 years old. In his first game, he scored both goals in a 2–1 win against Yugoslavia. He played in the 1928 Summer Olympics. He scored 4 goals in 4 games. Italy won a bronze medal in that tournament.

He then helped Italy win the 1927–30 Central European International Cup and the 1933–35 Central European International Cup.

Schiavio was very important for Italy's first World Cup win in 1934. He scored 4 goals in the tournament. He was the second-highest scorer. He started the tournament with three goals (a hat-trick) against the USA. This was on May 27, and it included Italy's first-ever World Cup goal. Italy won that game 7–1.

In the final against Czechoslovakia, Italy was losing. But Raimundo Orsi scored a late goal to tie the game. In extra time, even though he was injured, Schiavio scored the winning goal. He converted a pass from Enrique Guaita. This goal made the score 2–1, and Italy won the World Cup! After scoring, he briefly fainted from tiredness. This was his last goal and game for Italy. Injuries kept him from playing more for the national team.

Overall, Schiavio played 21 games for Italy. He scored 15 goals for his country.
