Meet the Characters: Birds, Pigs, and More!
The characters in Angry Birds Toons are mostly birds and pigs. They communicate using sounds and actions, which makes the show funny and easy to understand for everyone.
The Birds: Heroes of the Flock
These are the main heroes trying to protect their precious eggs from the sneaky pigs.
- Red is the leader of the birds. He's a round, red bird who takes protecting the eggs very seriously. Sometimes he gets a bit stressed or angry, but he always tries his best!
- The Blues are a group of three mischievous blue birds named Jim, Jake, and Jay. They are the youngest in the flock and love to play pranks on both the pigs and the other birds.
- Chuck is a fast, yellow, triangular bird. He can move so quickly it almost looks like time slows down! Chuck can be a bit proud and sometimes thinks he's the biggest hero, but he truly cares about his friends.
- Matilda is a kind and caring bird who loves children. She's also a great cook, though sometimes her food is only good enough for the pigs! She has a peaceful, hippy-like personality.
- Bomb is a black bird with a "fuse" on his head. He can cause explosions whenever he wants! Bomb is usually relaxed and has a big imagination. He also loves to eat, sometimes more than the other birds.
- Bubbles is a cheerful and friendly orange bird. He absolutely loves sweets! If someone takes his candy, he gets very angry and will do anything to get it back. Like the Blues, he's one of the younger birds.
- Terence is a huge, grumpy-looking red bird. He rarely speaks, only making deep growling sounds. Terence moves in a mysterious way, often disappearing and reappearing when no one is looking. His huge size and quiet nature often lead to funny situations.
- The Eggs are the baby birds. The pigs are always trying to steal them to cook them! The adult birds work hard to protect their eggs and teach them about life.
The Pigs: Egg-Stealing Villains
The pigs are the main villains in the show. They are always trying to steal the birds' eggs!
- Minion Pigs are the regular green pigs. They work for the King Pig and are good at building things, like their whole city. Even though they serve the King, they also enjoy having silly fun.
- King Pig is a very large pig who wears a crown. He's often lazy, hungry, and a bit selfish. If things don't go his way, he can act like a spoiled child. His palace often gets destroyed because of all the crazy things happening!
- Corporal Pig is a pig who acts like a soldier. He wears a helmet with an ace of spades card on it. He looks up to King Pig and loves to boss the Minion Pigs around.
- Foreman Pig has a bright orange mustache and one blind eye. He's in charge of all the building projects. Sometimes he leads the pigs in their attempts to steal the eggs.
- Chef Pig wears a chef hat and has a French mustache. He cooks for the King and often helps with egg-stealing plans. He's very clever and sometimes even works against the other pigs if it helps him.
- Chronicler Pig is a very smart and calm pig. He's like the historian, judge, and master of ceremonies for Pig City. He's one of King Pig's most loyal helpers.
- Professor Pig is a smart scientist and inventor. He creates many gadgets, but his inventions don't always work as planned!
- Fat Pig is a strong pig, but he can be a bit full of himself and a coward. He can also sing very loudly!
- Hambo is a stubborn and brave fighter. He's a loyal student of Corporal Pig, but he can be a bit clumsy and not very smart.
- Muscle Pig is a very strong pig who uses his power to solve problems. He likes to fight, but only if he knows he'll win. He hates losing!
Other Animals in the World
Sometimes, other animals appear in the show, adding to the fun!
- Butterfly A beautiful insect that Chuck once watched.
- Fly A small insect that appeared in a funny scene with Red.
- Bee An insect that once stung a small pig on the nose.
- Fish These animals live in aquariums or in the water. A red fish once laughed at Red when he was trying to learn to swim.
- Snail An animal that was affected by Chef Pig's potion, turning it into a pig.
- Lamb A farm animal that once threw things at the disguised birds and pigs.
- Crab A sea creature that appeared when Red was trying to swim.
- Sea Monster A large creature that woke up when pigs threw something into the water.

How the Show Was Made
Rovio Entertainment, the company behind the Angry Birds games, announced they would make a TV series in 2012. They planned to create 52 short episodes, each less than three minutes long. A Finnish animation studio called Kombo, which Rovio bought in 2011, produced the series. The show ended up having three seasons with a total of 104 episodes. The theme song for the show is simply called "Angry Birds." The first episodes were released on the Angry Birds apps on March 16 and 17, 2013.
