Early Life and Beginnings
Ania Bukstein was born in Moscow, which was then part of the Soviet Union. Her parents were both doctors. Her mother was a speech therapist, and her father was a doctor who specialized in brain tumors.
From a young age, Ania showed a gift for music. She started learning classical piano when she was just 5 years old. She trained very strictly, which was common for children in the Soviet Union at the time.
When Ania was 7 years old, in the early 1990s, she and her parents moved to Israel. Even though she loved piano, she decided not to become a professional concert pianist in Israel. She began her acting journey when she was 12. For high school, she attended the Telma Yalin Arts High School in Israel.
After finishing high school, Ania served in the Israeli Air Force Band for two years. She also studied French and received a scholarship to study in Paris.

In 2003, she appeared in the film Matana MiShamayim. In 2005, she starred in Shoshelet Schwartz and was nominated for another Ophir Award. That same year, she played Anastasia in the children's TV series Rosh Gadol.

In 2006, Ania played Tamara Weiss in the musical drama series HaShir Shelanu. In 2007, she starred in the film The Secrets as Neomi Hess, a curious teenager at a religious school. For this role, she won the 'Woman of The Year in Cinema' award in Israel. That same year, she played Irena Kovlova in the crime drama series The Arbitrator.
In 2008, she appeared in the Israeli comedy show Kapiot (Spoons). In 2010, she was in the film Kalevet (Rabies) and later appeared in the sitcom Naor's Friends. In 2014, she played Silvy in the comedy series Amamiot. Later that year, she co-starred in False Flag. In this show, she played Asia Brinditch, an Israeli teacher who is linked to a big kidnapping story.
International Appearances
In 2016, Ania played Kinvara, a mysterious priestess, in the sixth season of the popular HBO series Game of Thrones. In November 2016, she won the Best Actress award at the PÖFF Festival for her role in A Quiet Heart.

Voice Acting Work
Ania has also lent her voice to many animated characters.
In 1994, she voiced Marie in the Hebrew version of the film The Aristocats. She also narrated and sang the intro song for Dick Bruna's Miffy Storybook Classics. In 2002, she voiced Jane in the Hebrew version of Return to Never Land.
From 2003 to 2006, she was the voice of Clover in Totally Spies!. From 2004 to 2007, she voiced Daphne Blake in the Scooby-Doo cartoons. She also voiced Susan Pevensie in the Hebrew version of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005) and Princess Selenia in Arthur and the Invisibles (2006).
Personal Life
Ania Bukstein married Israeli real estate developer Dotan Weiner in 2013. In 2018, they welcomed their first daughter. Ania is fluent in several languages, including Russian, Hebrew, French, Italian, and English.
