Animal Crossing: Wild World, known in Japan as Oideyo Dōbutsu no Mori (おいでよ どうぶつ の 森, lit. "Come to Animal Forest") is a fun life simulation video game. It was made for the Nintendo DS system. This game is part of the popular Animal Crossing series.

Playing Animal Crossing: Wild World

In this game, you move into a village where all the other residents are animals. You are the only human! Up to four players can live together in one house in the village. You need to earn money, called "bells," to pay for your house. As you pay off your loan, your house will get bigger.

You can earn bells in many ways. Try fishing, catching insects, or selling items you find. You can buy furniture and other cool things for your house from Tom Nook's shop. If your house looks really nice, you might get points and gifts from the Happy Room Academy (HRA). You can also buy new clothes at the Able Sisters' shop.

This game is played in real time, meaning it follows the actual clock and calendar. There is no ending to the game, so you can play for as long as you like! You can even visit other players' villages. You can do this using the Nintendo DS wireless connection or the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. It's a lot like the older Animal Crossing game that was on the Nintendo GameCube.

Meet the Characters and Places

Villagers: Your Animal Neighbors

The animals in your village are all different! There are many kinds of animals, like cats, mice, and dogs. They also have different personalities, such as lazy or active. There are more types of animals in Wild World than in the older Animal Crossing game.

Tom Nook: The Shop Owner

Tom Nook is a raccoon who runs the main shop in your village, called "Nook's Cranny." As you buy more things, his shop will grow bigger! He sells furniture and other items for your house. Unlike the first Animal Crossing game, he doesn't sell clothes anymore. His shop's items change every day, so check often!

Mable & Sable: The Able Sisters

Mable and Sable are hedgehog sisters who own a clothing shop called "Able Sisters." Here, you can design your own clothes! You can also buy hats, umbrellas, glasses, and other outfits. Just like Tom Nook's shop, their items change daily. It's a good idea to visit them often to see what's new.

Pelly & Phyllis: Town Hall Workers

Pelly and Phyllis are two pelicans who work at the Town Hall. This is where you can send letters to your animal neighbors. You can also get information about your town. Pelly works during the day, and Phyllis works at night.

Tortimer: The Mayor

Tortimer is an old turtle who is the mayor of your village. He usually appears during special event days in your town.

K.K. Slider: The Musician

K.K. Slider is a cool dog who sings songs. You can find him performing in the café at the museum every Saturday evening at 8:00 PM. If you like his music, you can even take a copy of the song home to listen to whenever you want!

Blathers & Celeste: Museum & Observatory

Blathers and Celeste are owls. Blathers works in the museum. You can give him paintings, fossils, insects, and fish that you find. He will display them in the museum for everyone to see. Celeste works in the observatory. At night, you can visit her to draw your own pictures among the stars!

Resetti: The Mole with a Message

Resetti is an angry mole. He appears if you turn off your Nintendo DS without saving your game first. Each time he shows up, he gets angrier with you! He will pop up outside your house to remind you to save.
