Anita Álvarez de Williams (born in 1931) is an American expert who has studied people, history, and photography. She lives in Mexicali, Mexico. She is especially known for her work on the Cocopah people, who are an Indigenous group.

Anita Álvarez de Williams has done very important work to help us understand the past of Baja California and the areas near the border between Mexico and the United States. She has written many books and articles for both Mexico and the United States. Some of her famous books include The Cocopah People (1974) and Primeros pobladores de la Baja California (1975).

Álvarez de Williams helped start the University Museum in Mexicali.
