Anna Ragsdale Camp (born September 27, 1982) is an American actress. She is well-known for playing the character Sarah Newlin in the TV show True Blood. She also played Aubrey Posen in the popular musical comedy movies called the Pitch Perfect film series.

Anna Camp has appeared in many other TV shows. These include Mad Men, The Good Wife, The Mindy Project, and Vegas. She also had roles in movies like The Help and Café Society.

She started her acting career on Broadway, which is a famous theater district in New York City. She was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for her acting in an Off-Broadway play called All New People.

Early Life and First Steps in Acting

Anna Camp was born in Aiken, South Carolina. Her mother, Dee, and her father, Thomas, raised her in Columbia, South Carolina. She has an older sister named Saluda.

Anna's family background includes British (English, Scottish, Welsh), Dutch, French, and Swedish roots. She first started acting when she was in second grade. She was in a play for a program called Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.). This experience helped her discover her love for acting.

She later went to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. In 2004, she earned a degree in Fine Arts. Soon after, she moved to New York City to pursue her acting career.

Anna Camp began her professional acting journey in 2005. She was nominated for an award called the Lucille Lortel Award in 2007 for her role in the play The Scene. In 2008, she made her debut on Broadway in a play called Equus. She acted alongside Daniel Radcliffe, who is famous for playing Harry Potter.

She also appeared in a TV show pilot (a test episode) called Reinventing the Wheelers in 2007. In 2008, she had a role in another pilot called Cashmere Mafia. Her big break came when she got a main role as Sarah Newlin in the HBO series True Blood. For this role, she was nominated for a SAG Award.

Anna Camp has made guest appearances on many popular TV shows. These include The Office (2009), Glee (2009), Numbers (2010), and Covert Affairs (2010). She also had recurring roles in Mad Men (2010), The Good Wife (2011–2012), and How I Met Your Mother (2013).

In 2011, she starred in a play called All New People, written by Zach Braff. She was also a main cast member in the first season of the TV comedy The Mindy Project.

One of her most famous roles is Aubrey Posen in the Pitch Perfect movies. She played this character in the first movie (2012) and returned for the sequels, Pitch Perfect 2 and Pitch Perfect 3.

Personal Life

Anna Camp was married to actor Michael Mosley from 2010 to 2013. Later, she started dating her Pitch Perfect co-star Skylar Astin in 2013. They got married in September 2016. However, they announced their divorce in April 2019, and it was finalized later that year.
