After Smith College, she continued her studies. She went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). There, she earned her master's degree in 1999. She then completed her Ph.D. in 2002. Her main project for her Ph.D. was about digital signatures. Her professor, Ron Rivest, helped guide her work.
Career in Computer Science
After finishing her Ph.D., Anna Lysyanskaya joined Brown University. This was in 2002. She became a professor there. In 2023, she was given a special title. She became the James A. and Julie N. Brown Professor.
She is also involved with the International Association for Cryptologic Research. This group helps advance the study of cryptography. She was first chosen to be on their board of directors in 2012. She has been re-elected several times since then.
