Annaquatucket River facts for kids
The Annaquatucket River is a small river in the U.S. state of Rhode Island. It flows for about 7 kilometers (5 miles). This river collects water from an area of almost 19 square kilometers (7.3 square miles). There are also two dams built along the river.
Where the River Flows
The Annaquatucket River starts near Pork Hill in North Kingstown. It begins on the north side of the hill, close to Hatchery Road.
First, the river flows north towards Rhode Island State Route 4. Then, it turns south and empties into a place called Belleville Pond.
After leaving Belleville Pond, the river continues to flow southeast. Finally, it reaches its end, or "mouth," where it flows into Narragansett Bay.
