Anne Kendrick Benedict (born April 26, 1851) was an American author who wrote books for children. She focused on science topics like how the human body works (called physiology). She also wrote for religious magazines.

When Anne was 15, she started attending Elmira College in 1866. She finished her studies and graduated in 1870. At her graduation, she gave a speech called "Demosthenes and St. Paul."
Family Life
After marrying Wayland Benedict in 1873, Anne Kendrick Benedict had her first child, Mary K. Benedict, in July 1875 in New York. Soon after Mary K. was born, the family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio.
In Cincinnati, Anne Kendrick Benedict had four more children:

- Stanley R. Benedict (born March 17, 1884)
- Agnes E. Benedict (born October 1888)
Her son, Stanley R. Benedict, later became a famous chemist. He earned his degree from the University of Cincinnati. Stanley R. Benedict is known for discovering something called Benedict's reagent, which is used in science to test for certain sugars.
While living in Cincinnati, the Benedict family also had a helper named Jessie Taylor.
