Anne Margaret Coke, Viscountess Anson (born January 25, 1779 – died May 23, 1843), was an English painter. She was the daughter of Thomas Coke, who later became the Earl of Leicester. Anne was also the wife of Thomas Anson, 1st Viscount Anson.

Anne Margaret Coke was born at Holkham Hall in England. Her birthday was January 25, 1779. Her father, Thomas Coke, later became a very important person called the Earl of Leicester. This title is part of the British peerage, a system of hereditary titles.
Anne had two sisters, Jane and Elizabeth. Her mother, Jane Dutton, was against slavery. She also believed that education was very important for her children.
Marriage and Family Life
When Anne was 15, she married Thomas Anson in September 1794. He was 27 years old. Thomas Anson was a member of parliament, which means he was elected to help make laws for the country. He was also very wealthy. He was the heir to a large estate called Shugborough Hall in Staffordshire.
People described Anne as energetic and always ready to help others. She was also known for her sweet and pleasing personality. Anne and Thomas had 13 children together. Four of their children were born before Anne turned 20.
Anne Margaret Coke died in London on May 23, 1843. Her tomb is in Colwich, Surrey.

Anne Margaret Coke was a talented painter. She likely learned to draw from famous artists like Thomas Gainsborough. He was a well-known painter in England. One of Anne's paintings, called A Milk Girl, was inspired by Gainsborough's work.
Another artist, Benjamin Haydon, thought her painting of a nest of owls was "very well done." Many of Anne's paintings were displayed at Shugborough Hall, her family home. These included three large paintings of her own children.
