Anne Veski is a famous pop singer from Estonia. She was born Anne Vaarmann on February 27, 1956. She has been performing since 1978 and is known for her many hit songs.

Early Life and Music Career
Anne Veski was born Anne Vaarmann in Rapla, Estonia. She went to a music school in her hometown. After that, she studied at the Tallinn University of Technology. She learned about industrial planning, which is how factories and businesses are organized.
Anne finished university in 1978. She became an economist, someone who studies how money and resources are used. But her passion was music. She decided to become a professional singer.
She started singing with music groups called Mobile and Vitamiin. Her first big hit song in Estonian was "Roosiaia kuninganna" ("Queen of the Rose Garden") in 1980. Other popular Estonian songs she sang include "Troopikaöö" ("Tropical Night") from 1979. She also had hits like "Viimane Vaatus" ("Last Act") in 1983 and "Jääd või ei?" ("Will You Stay or Not?") in 1986.
Solo Career and Awards
In 1984, Anne Veski started her solo career. She formed her own music group called Nemo. That same year, she took part in the Sopot International Song Festival in Poland. This was a big international music competition.
Anne won two important awards at the festival. She received the Amber Nightingale award for singing a Polish song very well. The song was called "Polka Idolka". She also won the Intervision Song Contest for her song "Nadezhda gasnet". This was like a runner-up prize, as another singer won the top Grand Prix award.
Anne Veski also became very popular in Russia. Some of her well-known Russian songs are "Vozmi menya s soboy" ("Take Me With You") from 1983. Other hits include "Milyy, goryacho lyubimyy" ("My Darling Beloved One") from 1994. She also sang "Radovat'cya zhyzni" ("Enjoy Life") in 2001.
In 1987, Anne Veski appeared in an Estonian rockumentary film. It was called Pingul keel (Tightened String). She performed alongside other famous Estonian musicians. These included singers like Urmas Alender and Ivo Linna.
Anne Veski's Family Life
Anne Veski first married a lyricist named Jaak Veski in 1977. A lyricist is someone who writes the words for songs. They had a daughter named Kerli Veski. Kerli is now a diplomat, which means she works for her country in another country. She has worked at the Estonian Consulate in Moscow.
Anne and Jaak divorced in 1981. Later, Anne married her manager, Benno Beltšikov.
