Anne Veski (born Anne Vaarmann on February 27, 1956) is a famous pop singer from Estonia. She is known for her powerful voice and popular songs in both Estonian and Russian.

About Anne Veski
Her Early Life and Music Journey
Anne Veski was born as Anne Vaarmann in Rapla, Estonia. She loved music from a young age and went to a music school in her hometown. After that, she studied industrial planning at the Tallinn University of Technology. She finished university in 1978 and became an economist.
But Anne's real passion was singing! She decided to become a professional singer. She started performing with music groups like Mobile and Vitamiin. Her first big hit song in Estonian was "Roosiaia kuninganna" ("Queen of the Rose Garden") in 1980. Other popular Estonian songs she sang include "Troopikaöö" ("Tropical Night") and "Jääd või ei?" ("Will You Stay or Not?").
International Success
In 1984, Anne Veski started her solo career with her own group called Nemo. That same year, she took part in the Sopot International Song Festival in Poland. This was a very important music contest! Anne won two big awards there. She received the Amber Nightingale for singing a Polish song really well. She also won the Intervision Song Contest for her song "Nadezhda gasnet". This prize was like a runner-up position in the main competition.
Anne also became very popular in Russia. Some of her famous Russian songs are "Vozmi menya s soboy" ("Take Me With You") and "Radovat'cya zhyzni" ("Enjoy Life"). In 1987, Anne was featured in an Estonian music documentary called Pingul keel (Tightened String). She appeared alongside other well-known Estonian singers and musicians. Anne Veski has released many albums throughout her career, sharing her music with fans for decades.
Her Family
Anne Veski first married a lyricist named Jaak Veski in 1977. They had a daughter named Kerli Veski. Kerli grew up to become a diplomat, working for Estonia in other countries. Anne and Jaak later divorced in 1981. Anne then married her manager, Benno Beltšikov. Benno passed away in 2022.
Awards and Recognition
Anne Veski has received special honors for her contributions to music.
- In 1984, she was named a Meritorious Artist of the Estonian SSR. This was a special title given to artists who were highly respected for their work.
- She also received the Order of the White Star, V Class. This is an important award from Estonia that recognizes people for their great service to the country.
