Anne Shirley Wills OAM was born on October 3, 1944. She is a very well-known Australian TV and radio star who lives in Adelaide. Anne Wills holds an amazing record: she has won more Logie Awards than anyone else in history! She has won 19 Logies for being the "Most Popular State Personality" and one for producing a show called Clapperboard.
Anne Wills's Story
Anne Wills was born in Wangaratta, Victoria. When she was three years old, her family moved to Ocean Island. This island is in the Pacific Ocean and is now part of Kiribati. They lived there until 1963, when her family moved to Adelaide.
In 1964, Anne was noticed by people from Channel 9. This happened during a TV event called the Telethon Quest. They offered her a job as a weather presenter on NWS9. She started this exciting job in July 1965.
Anne has been on many TV shows. Some were national shows like In Melbourne Tonight and Beauty and the Beast. She also appeared on The Bert Newton Show and Good Morning Australia. In Adelaide, she was on many local shows. These included Adelaide Tonight, AM Adelaide, and Movie Scene. She also hosted Christmas Telethon, Pot Luck, and Close Up with Willsy. For several years, she was also the weather presenter for SAS. As of 2013, she has a regular weekly segment. You can hear her on the Adelaide radio station FiveAA. She shares fun celebrity gossip there.
