Anones is a special neighborhood, or barrio, located in the town of Las Marías, Puerto Rico. In 2010, about 1,262 people lived there. It's a part of Puerto Rico, which is a commonwealth of the United States.

History of Anones

Puerto Rico became a territory of the United States after the Spanish–American War in 1898. This happened because of an agreement called the Treaty of Paris of 1898.

In 1899, the United States government counted everyone living in Puerto Rico. They found that 1,251 people lived in the Anones barrio at that time.
