Antônio Lopes dos Santos, known as Antônio Lopes, was born on June 12, 1941. He is a famous Brazilian football coach and a former player.
Before becoming a football coach, he worked as a police chief in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This background helped him bring discipline to his teams.
Antônio Lopes also helped the Brazil national football team. In 2000, he was an assistant coach. He was also a key assistant coach when Brazil won the 2002 FIFA World Cup. This was a huge success for the country!
In 2005, he became the main coach for Corinthians. Under his leadership, the team won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, which is a major football league in Brazil.
Playing Career
Antônio Lopes started his football journey as a player. He played for a team called Olaria from 1958 to 1961. After that, he played for Bonsucesso in 1962.
