What Makes These Springs Special?
The water in Antelope Hot Springs comes out of the ground at about 104 °F (40 °C). This is a very comfortable temperature for swimming.
The Main Pool
The main pool is about 5 feet deep. It measures about 9 feet by 12 feet across. This means it is about 150 centimeters deep, and 3 meters by 4 meters wide. The pool is big enough for about six people to enjoy at one time.
How the Springs Were Found
People say that a rancher first noticed water bubbling from a rock. To make a bigger pool, he used dynamite. This action helped create the hot spring pool that visitors enjoy today.
Naming the Hot Springs
These hot springs do not have an official name. The system that tracks geographic names in the U.S. calls them simply Hot Springs. U.S. maps also use a similar simple name for them.
