Anthony Avent is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He was born on October 18, 1969, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Anthony played for several teams in the NBA, including the Milwaukee Bucks and Orlando Magic.
Before joining the NBA, he played college basketball at Seton Hall University. There, he even played in the big 1989 NCAA championship game. Before college, Anthony went to Malcolm X Shabazz High School in Newark, New Jersey.

Starting His Basketball Journey
Anthony Avent was chosen by the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the 1991 NBA draft. He was the 15th player picked overall. However, instead of playing for the Hawks right away, he decided to sign with a team in Italy called Phonola Caserta. He made this choice because he couldn't agree on a good contract with the Hawks.
After playing one season in Italy, Anthony came back to the United States. He then signed a four-year contract with the Milwaukee Bucks.
