Anthony Blevins, born on July 23, 1976, is an American football coach. He used to play professional football himself. Today, he works as an assistant special teams coordinator for the Chicago Bears in the National Football League (NFL). He even played in a league called the original XFL for the Birmingham Thunderbolts. Blevins has been a full-time coach in the NFL for many years, from 2013 to 2022.

Anthony Blevins' Education
Anthony Blevins is not just a football coach; he's also very educated! He earned several college degrees. He got his first degree, a bachelor's in Sociology, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He also played football there as a defensive back. Later, he earned a master's degree in Instructional Technology from UAB. He didn't stop there! He went on to get a doctorate degree from Mississippi State University. He studied Instructional Systems and Work Force Development while working as a graduate assistant coach at the university.

Before becoming a coach, Anthony Blevins was a football player. He played college football at UAB. After college, he played professionally for a few different teams. He played for the Mobile Admirals in the Regional Football League. He also played for the Birmingham Steeldogs in a league called af2. Finally, he played for the Birmingham Thunderbolts in the original XFL.
Anthony Blevins' Coaching Career
Coaching in College and High School
Anthony Blevins started his coaching journey at Meadowcreek High School in Georgia. He spent two years there, coaching the team's secondary players. He also helped connect the team with the local community.
From 2005 to 2007, he worked as a graduate assistant coach at Mississippi State University. In 2008, he coached at the University of Tennessee-Martin. There, he worked with the team's cornerbacks and helped find new players as a recruiting coordinator.
Between 2009 and 2011, Blevins coached at Tennessee State. He was in charge of the special teams and the cornerbacks. In 2012, Blevins returned to his old college, UAB, to coach the Blazers' cornerbacks.
Coaching in the NFL
Arizona Cardinals
From 2013 to 2017, Anthony Blevins worked for the Arizona Cardinals. He was an assistant special teams coach under head coach Bruce Arians.
New York Giants
In 2018, Blevins joined the New York Giants coaching staff. He spent two seasons as the assistant special teams coach, working closely with Thomas McGaughey. In 2020, he stayed with the Giants and became the assistant secondary coach. He had coached with the new head coach, Joe Judge, at Mississippi State.
In 2021, his role changed again. He became the assistant linebackers coach and also helped with special teams. In 2022, he was kept on the staff by new head coach Brian Daboll and moved back to being the assistant special teams coach.
Coaching in Other Leagues
Vegas Vipers
On July 7, 2023, Anthony Blevins was announced as the new head coach for the Vegas Vipers in the XFL. He was set to replace Rod Woodson. However, Blevins never actually coached for the Vipers. The team canceled its stadium lease, and the XFL later merged into the United Football League before the 2024 season began.
Birmingham Stallions
On May 28, 2024, Blevins joined the Birmingham Stallions of the United Football League (UFL). He worked as a defensive assistant for the team.
Coaching the Chicago Bears
On February 19, 2025, the Chicago Bears hired Anthony Blevins. He is now their assistant special teams coach.
