High School Basketball Star
Anthony Bonner went to Vashon High School in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a great basketball player there. In his final year, he scored about 14.6 points per game. He also grabbed 16.8 rebounds per game. In 1986, he was named Mr. Show-Me Basketball. This award goes to the best high school player in Missouri.
College Achievements
Bonner continued his basketball journey at Saint Louis University. He played for the Saint Louis Billikens. For a long time, he was their top scorer ever. He scored a total of 1,972 points. Another player, Gibson Jimerson, passed his record during the 2024–25 season.
Professional Basketball Career
Anthony Bonner was chosen in the 1990 NBA draft. The Sacramento Kings picked him as the 23rd player overall. He played six seasons in the NBA, which is the top basketball league in the world. He played for the Kings, the New York Knicks, and the Orlando Magic. During his NBA career, he scored an average of 6.9 points per game.
In 2002, when he was 34, Bonner tried to return to the NBA. He played seven preseason games for the Utah Jazz. He averaged 4.1 points per game in those games. However, the team decided not to keep him.
Bonner also played for many teams in Europe. Some of the well-known teams he played for include PAOK in Greece and Virtus Bologna in Italy.
