Anthony Marcus Sanders was born on March 2, 1974. He is an American professional baseball player who used to play as an outfielder. Now, he is a coach. He works as the first base coach for the Baltimore Orioles, a team in Major League Baseball (MLB).
Anthony Sanders played in MLB for the Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners. He also played in Japan for the Yokohama BayStars in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).

Baseball Career Highlights
Playing for Team USA
Anthony Sanders was part of the United States national baseball team. He helped his team win a gold medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. This was a big achievement in his playing career.
Starting as a Coach
After his playing days, Sanders began coaching. In 2007, he joined the Colorado Rockies organization. He started as a hitting coach for the Tri-City ValleyCats. He stayed in this role until 2012, helping players improve their batting skills.
Becoming a Manager
In 2013, Anthony Sanders got a promotion. He became the manager for the Grand Junction Rockies. This team plays in the Rookie-level Pioneer League. He was a great manager and was even named the league's Manager of the Year in 2014. He managed the Grand Junction Rockies for three seasons, from 2013 to 2015.
Working with Advanced Teams
Sanders continued to move up in his coaching career. In 2016 and 2017, he worked as a supervisor for the Class A Advanced Lancaster JetHawks. During his time there, the JetHawks were very good at stolen bases. Many players on the team stole at least 30 bases each season.
Coaching for the Orioles
In 2018 and 2019, Sanders worked as the outfield and baserunning coordinator for the Rockies. This meant he helped players learn how to play in the outfield and how to run the bases well. After the 2019 season, he was named the first base coach for the Baltimore Orioles. He continues to coach for the Orioles today.
