Anthony Marcus Sanders (born March 2, 1974) is an American baseball player and coach. He used to play as an Outfielder in professional baseball. Now, he is a coach for the Baltimore Orioles in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for teams like the Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners in MLB. He also played in Japan for the Yokohama BayStars.

Playing and Coaching Career

Anthony Sanders was a talented baseball player. He was part of the United States national baseball team. With this team, he won a gold medal in baseball at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. This was a big achievement for him and his country.

After his playing career, Sanders became a coach. He joined the Colorado Rockies organization in 2007. His first coaching job was as a hitting coach for the Tri-City ValleyCats. He helped players improve their batting skills until 2012.

In 2013, Sanders became a manager. He led the Grand Junction Rockies team in the Pioneer League. He was a very good manager. In 2014, he was even named the "Manager of the Year" for that league. He managed the Grand Junction Rockies for three seasons, from 2013 to 2015.

Later, he worked with the Class A Advanced Lancaster JetHawks in 2016 and 2017. He helped supervise the team. During his time there, the JetHawks were very good at stolen bases. In 2017, they stole 326 bases! Six of their players, including Garrett Hampson, Sam Hilliard, and Yonathan Daza, each stole at least 30 bases.

In 2018 and 2019, Sanders had another important role. He worked as the outfield and baserunning coordinator for the Rockies. This meant he helped players learn how to play in the outfield and how to run the bases well.

After the 2019 season, Anthony Sanders joined the Baltimore Orioles. He became their first base coach. He continues to help professional baseball players today.
