Antoine de Caunes (born 1 December 1953) is a well-known French television presenter, comedian, actor, writer, and film director. He is the son of two famous French TV personalities, Georges de Caunes and Jacqueline Joubert. Antoine de Caunes is also the father of actress Emma de Caunes.

Antoine de Caunes's Career Journey

Antoine de Caunes started his career by writing theme songs for popular cartoons. He used the name Paul Persavon for these songs, which included music for shows like Cobra and Space Sheriff Gavan (also known as X-Or in France).

Early TV Appearances

He first appeared on TV in shows like Chorus (in 1975) and Les Enfants du rock. He became very well-known after joining the show Nulle part ailleurs on Canal+.

International Shows

In 1988, Antoine de Caunes began making an English version of his French music show, Rapido. This show was part of DEF II on BBC2 in the UK. Later, he helped create Eurotrash for Channel 4. This show was a humorous entertainment program that featured different European stars. He also hosted a short talk show called Le Show on Channel 4.

From 2013 to 2015, he hosted the daily evening show Le Grand Journal on Canal+. He also lent his voice to characters in the Aardman Animation TV show Rex the Runt. In May 2024, Antoine de Caunes launched a new magazine called Vieux, which focuses on topics important to older people. He has also been a long-time supporter of AIDS awareness, working with the organization Solidarité sida [fr] (AIDS Solidarity).
