Antonaves is a charming village located in southeastern France. It was once its own "commune," which is like a small local government area. On January 1, 2016, Antonaves joined with other nearby villages. They formed a new, larger commune called Val Buëch-Méouge.
This area is part of the Hautes-Alpes "department." A department is similar to a county or a state in other countries. Antonaves is special because it sits where two rivers meet: the Méouge and the Buëch. It is also known as the entrance to the amazing Gorges de la Méouge. This is a beautiful 4-kilometer-long canyon made of limestone.

Life in Antonaves is peaceful and connected to nature. The village has a small population. In 2021, about 141 people lived there. The number of people living in Antonaves has changed over the years. For example, in 1962, there were only 60 residents. The population grew to 158 by 1999.
