Her Start in Television
Antonella Clerici studied law at the University of Milan. She started her TV career in 1985 as an announcer. In 1987, she moved to Rai 2, a big Italian TV channel. There, she hosted sports shows like Dribbling and Domenica Sprint. She also presented other programs like Ristorante Italia.
Becoming a Popular Host
In 1995, Antonella returned to Rai 2 with another football show called Telegoal. From 1996 to 1998, she was part of Unomattina. This was a popular morning show on Rai 1. She even covered the 1998 FIFA World Cup with a special program.
For a short time, she worked for another TV group called Mediaset. She hosted shows like Ma quanto costa? and A tu per tu.
Return to RAI and Big Success
In 2000, Antonella Clerici came back to RAI. This is when she started hosting La prova del cuoco. This cooking show was the Italian version of Ready Steady Cook. It became very successful, and she hosted it until 2008. She took a break to have her first child.
During the 2000s, she hosted many other shows for Rai 1. These included Domenica in, Il ristorante, and Ti lascio una canzone.
Hosting the Sanremo Music Festival
In 2005, Antonella co-hosted the Sanremo Music Festival 2005. This is Italy's most famous song contest. She returned in 2010 to host the festival all by herself. This was a big achievement for her.
Recent Work and Books
In 2010, Antonella released her first music CD. In 2011, she returned to host La prova del cuoco. She has also written several cookbooks. After La prova del cuoco ended, she started a new cooking show called È sempre mezzogiorno.
Antonella Clerici will also co-host the first night of the Sanremo Music Festival 2025. She will be alongside Carlo Conti and Gerry Scotti.
