Simona Ventura, born on April 1, 1965, is a famous Italian television presenter. She also won the Miss Italia beauty pageant in 1988 and represented Italy in Miss Universe 1988 that same year. Simona is known for being one of the few women to host the important Sanremo Music Festival. She was also a main TV host for Rai 2.

Simona Ventura's TV Journey

Simona Ventura started her TV journey on the show "Domani Sposi". Because she loved sports, she became a sports reporter. She covered big events like the 1990 FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euro 1992, and the 1992 Summer Olympics for Telemontecarlo.

Working at RAI

Simona then joined RAI, a major Italian TV network. She appeared on "Domenica In" in 1991 and later on the sports show "Domenica Sportiva" in 1992. She also worked on "Pavarotti International". In 1996, Simona hosted the section for new artists at the Sanremo Music Festival.

In 2001, Simona returned to Rai Due. She hosted the popular Sunday afternoon show "Quelli che il calcio" and a prime-time show called "Quelli che lo smoking". In 2002, she presented "Dopofestival", a show about the Sanremo Music Festival. She also hosted a late-night show called "La grande notte del lunedì sera".

From 2003, she hosted the Italian version of Celebrity Survivor, called L'Isola Dei Famosi. In 2004, she was the main host of the Sanremo Music Festival. She also presented Music Farm in 2005 and 2006, which was a show similar to Hit Me, Baby, One More Time. Simona continued to host "Quelli che il Calcio" until 2011.

Moving to Mediaset and Sky

Simona Ventura also worked for Mediaset channels for eight years. She hosted many different shows like "Mai dire gol", "Scherzi a parte", "Festivalbar", and "Le Iene".

She was a judge on the Italian version of X-Factor for several seasons (1, 2, 5, 6, and 7). She even won the fifth season with her act, Francesca Michielin.

After working at RAI for almost 10 years, Simona Ventura signed a contract with Sky. In early 2016, Simona returned to Mediaset as a contestant on L'isola dei famosi. Later in 2016, she became the presenter of Selfie – Le cose cambiano, a new talent show.

Voice Acting and Films

In 1996, she was the Italian voice of Lola Bunny in the movie Space Jam. She also acted in the film Fratelli Coltelli in 1997. In 2008, Simona starred in La fidanzata di papà. She had a small role in Sofia Coppola's movie Somewhere in 2010. In 2012, she provided the voice of the pre-match presenter in the EA Sports video game FIFA 13.

Personal Life

Simona Ventura was married to Italian footballer and TV personality Stefano Bettarini from 1998 to 2004. They have two children together. Simona is also Catholic.
