Simona Ventura (born on April 1, 1965) is a famous Italian television presenter. She is one of the few women to have hosted the popular Sanremo Music Festival. She is also known as a leading TV host for the Italian television channel Rai 2.

Television Career
Getting Started in TV
Simona Ventura was born in Bentivoglio, Italy. Her television career began on a show called "Domani Sposi". Because she loved sports, she soon became a sports reporter. She reported from big events like the 1990 FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euro 1992, and the 1992 Summer Olympics for the channel Telemontecarlo.
Later, at the major Italian broadcasting company RAI, Ventura worked on popular shows. She appeared on "Domenica In" in 1991 and the sports program "Domenica Sportiva" in 1992.
Becoming a Star
Ventura's career grew on the Mediaset channels. She hosted many fun variety shows like "Mai dire gol," "Scherzi a parte" (a prank show like Punk'd), and the famous music competition "Festivalbar". She also hosted "Le Iene", a show known for its investigative reporting. She spent eight successful years working with Mediaset.
In 1996, she returned to RAI to host the newcomers' part of the Sanremo Music Festival.
In 2001, Ventura went back to Rai Due to host the popular Sunday show "Quelli che il calcio". She continued to host this show until 2011. In 2004, she was the main host of the entire Sanremo Music Festival, a huge honor in Italy.
Famous Reality Shows
Simona Ventura is well-known for hosting reality shows. From 2003, she presented the Italian version of Celebrity Survivor, called L'Isola Dei Famosi (The Island of the Famous). She hosted this very popular show for eight seasons.
She was also a judge on the Italian version of X-Factor for several seasons. In the fifth season, her contestant, Francesca Michielin, won the competition.
In 2016, Ventura returned to L'Isola dei Famosi, but this time as a contestant herself. Later that year, she began hosting a new talent show called Selfie – Le cose cambiano.
Other Work and Appearances
Besides hosting, Simona Ventura has also been involved in movies and voice acting.
- In 1996, she was the Italian voice for the character Lola Bunny in the movie Space Jam.
- In 2008, she acted in the movie La fidanzata di papà.
- In 2010, she made a brief appearance, known as a cameo, in the movie Somewhere.
- In 2012, her voice was used in the EA Sports video game FIFA 13 as a pre-match presenter.
Awards
For her work in television, Simona Ventura has won four Telegatti awards, which are like the Italian Emmys. She won them for being the Best Female Figure of the Year.
Personal Life
From 1998 to 2004, Simona Ventura was married to Stefano Bettarini, an Italian soccer player. They have two children together.
