Antonello Cuccureddu's Football Journey
Antonello Cuccureddu spent most of his playing career as a central defender. He played for Brescia from 1968 to 1969. His most famous time was with Juventus from 1969 to 1981. During his time at Juventus, he helped the team win six Serie A titles. He also played for Fiorentina from 1981 to 1983.
Even though he was a defender, Cuccureddu was good at scoring goals. He had a very powerful long-distance shot. In the 1973–74 season, he scored 12 goals. This was a lot for a defender, especially since he played as a midfielder that season. One of his most famous goals was against A.S. Roma. This goal helped Juventus win their 15th Italian league title. They won by just one point in the very last match of the season.
Playing for Italy: The National Team

Antonello Cuccureddu also played for the Italy national football team. He played 13 matches for his country. He was part of the team that played in the 1978 FIFA World Cup. He played in five games during that tournament. This included a match against Argentina, which Italy won 1–0. He also played in the match for third place against Brazil. Italy lost that game 2–1.
Antonello Cuccureddu's Playing Style
Cuccureddu was a very hard-working and flexible player. He could help his team both in attack and defense. He could play in many different positions in defense or midfield. Most of his career, he played as a defender. He could be an offensive wing-back or a full-back. His main position was a centre-back.
He also played in midfield sometimes, which was his first position. He could play as a mezzala, a central midfielder, or even an attacking midfielder. He was known for his energy and ability to understand the game. He also had good vision and was smart about tactics.
Even though he was mostly a defensive player, he scored many goals. He had a strong and accurate shot with his right foot from outside the penalty area. This made him a dangerous player in front of the goal. Because of his strong shot, he was also good at taking free kicks and penalty kicks.
Antonello Cuccureddu as a Coach
After he stopped playing, Antonello Cuccureddu became a football coach. He started by coaching the youth team of Juventus. In 1994, he won two important youth tournaments with them. These were the Torneo di Viareggio and the Campionato Nazionale Primavera.

After Grosseto, he coached other teams like Perugia and Pescara. In 2013, he returned to coach Grosseto again. He stayed there until January 2014.
