Antoni Bonet started his career with other famous architects. These included Josep Lluís Sert and Josep Torres Clavé. He was part of a group called GATCPAC. This group worked on new ideas for architecture in Spain.

In 1936, Bonet moved to Paris, France. There, he joined the studio of Le Corbusier. Le Corbusier was a very famous architect. Working with him helped Bonet learn many new things. After Paris, Bonet traveled to Argentina and Uruguay in South America. He continued his work there.

Designing the Famous Butterfly Chair

One of Antoni Bonet's most famous designs is the "BKF" Butterfly chair. He created this chair in 1938. He worked with his partners, Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari Hardoy. They were all part of a group called the Austral Group in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Butterfly chair became very popular around the world. It was known for its simple, modern design. In the 1940s, a company called Knoll bought the rights to make the chair. Antoni Bonet was very proud of his design. However, he was not happy with the money they received for the rights.

His Later Projects

From 1971 to 1975, Antoni Bonet had a design studio in Barcelona. During this time, he designed many buildings. One of his projects was the apartments for La Manga Campo de Golf in Spain. He designed both the lower apartments and the upper Cabeza Blanca apartments.

Antoni Bonet was known as a "maestro," which means a master. He paid great attention to every small detail in his designs. His work showed how much he cared about creating beautiful and useful spaces.
