Antonio Cornell Burks (born February 25, 1980) is an American who used to play professional basketball. He played as a guard, standing 6 feet 0 inches (1.83 meters) tall. Antonio played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and also for teams in Europe.

Early Life and College Basketball
Antonio Burks grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. He went to Booker T. Washington High School. After high school, he played basketball for one year at Hiwassee Junior College. This college is located in Madisonville, Tennessee.
Later, Antonio joined the University of Memphis basketball team. He started as a walk-on player. This means he joined the team without a scholarship at first. He helped his team, the Memphis Tigers, win the NIT in 2002. In his final year at college, he was named the Conference USA Player of the Year. This is a big award for college basketball players.
Professional Basketball Career
After his successful college career, Antonio Burks was chosen in the 2004 NBA draft. The Orlando Magic picked him in the second round. He was the 36th player chosen overall.
NBA Journey
Soon after being drafted, Antonio was traded to his hometown team, the Memphis Grizzlies. He played for the Grizzlies during his first season in the NBA. He averaged about three points per game in 24 games.
In 2006, Antonio joined the Miami Heat for their preseason games. However, he was later released from the team before the regular season began.
Playing in Europe
After playing in the NBA, Antonio went to play basketball in Europe. He played for KK Crvena zvezda in the Serbian basketball league.
Later, in August 2007, he signed with Lukoil Academic. This team is located in Bulgaria. He also played for Czarni Słupsk in Poland in 2009.
Life After Playing
In July 2009, Antonio Burks was involved in a serious incident in Memphis. He was shot by someone. Antonio had to have several surgeries and spent time recovering in the hospital. He showed great strength and recovered from his injuries.
After his playing career, Antonio started a new chapter. In 2010, he became an assistant coach. He coached for LeMoyne-Owen College.
In 2013, Antonio Burks also started his own business. He created a lawn care company called Antonio Burks Star Maintenance and Lawn Services.
