Antonio Fernández Resines was born on August 7, 1954, in Torrelavega, Spain. Even though he was born there, he grew up in Madrid. His father, José Ramón Fernández Quevedo, was a lawyer, and his mother was Amalia Resines Ruiz de Rebolledo.
He went to school at Colegio Santa María del Pilar. Antonio first started studying law at university. But after a year, he decided to switch his studies to "Sciences of the Image." This means he learned about how movies and TV shows are made. During this time, he met other people who would become famous in the film world, like Fernando Trueba.
