Apas Jumagulov was an important political leader in Kyrgyzstan. He served as the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan from 1993 to 1998. This means he was in charge of the government's daily work. He was the third person to hold this high position in Kyrgyzstan.

Early Life and Career
Apas Jumagulov was born on September 19, 1934. He studied subjects like geology and mineralogy in Moscow. These fields are about studying the Earth's rocks and minerals.
Starting in Politics
Jumagulov began his political journey in 1973. He joined the Communist Party in the Kyrgyz SSR. The Kyrgyz SSR was part of the Soviet Union at that time. He quickly moved up in the party. By 1979, he became a Secretary in the Central Committee. This was a very important leadership role. In 1986, he became the President of the Council of Ministers. This was like being the head of the government in the Kyrgyz SSR.
Presidential Election
In 1990, Kyrgyzstan was becoming an independent country. Apas Jumagulov was one of the first people to run for President of Kyrgyzstan. Another candidate was Absamat Masaliyev. Neither of them won enough votes. So, the country's parliament, called the Supreme Soviet, chose Askar Akayev to be the first President. This happened on October 27, 1990.
Becoming Prime Minister
After Kyrgyzstan gained independence, Apas Jumagulov continued his work. He was appointed Prime Minister on December 14, 1993. He served in this role for over four years. His time as Prime Minister ended on March 24, 1998.
After the Prime Minister Role
After his time as Prime Minister, Jumagulov took on new roles. He became an ambassador for Kyrgyzstan. An ambassador represents their country in another nation.
Ambassador to Germany
From 1998 to 2003, Apas Jumagulov was the ambassador to Germany. This meant he worked to build good relationships between Kyrgyzstan and Germany.
Ambassador to Russia
Later, from 2005 to 2007, he served as the ambassador to Russia. This was another important role. It helped strengthen ties between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
