The Story of Apple Sidra
How Apple Sidra Started
The idea for Apple Sidra began in 1963. The drink was first made in 1965. This happened with help from investors in Taiwan, the Philippines, and the United States. In 1969, Apple Sidra was introduced to the Philippines. There, it was sold in glass bottles.
At first, the drink came in three-piece aluminum cans. But in 1981, Apple Sidra was one of the first drinks in Asia to use a newer, two-piece can design. Today, Apple Sidra is still made in Taiwan. You can also find it in special stores in other countries.
Keeping Drinks Safe
Making Sure Apple Sidra is Safe
In 2019, Oceanic Beverages started getting reports. People found things that shouldn't be in some two-liter bottles of Apple Sidra. Because of this, the company had to take back about 1.2 million bottles. This was to make sure everyone stayed safe.
The problem was thought to be a mistake in cleaning the bottles at the factories. About 80,000 two-liter bottles made between July 4 and July 18, 2018, were believed to have this issue. The company had been fined before in 2018 for other quality problems with their products. This was to make sure they followed rules about food safety.
