Who Are the Arain People?
The Arain are a big community found in both India and Pakistan. They are especially common in the Punjab region, which is split between these two countries. You can also find them in other areas like Sindh and Uttar Pradesh.
What Did the Arain Do?
Long ago, the Arain people were mainly farmers. They had strong connections to the land and grew crops. Over time, some Arain families moved from farms to towns and cities. There, they became well-known in many different jobs and areas of life.
Where Do the Arain Come From?
There are different ideas about where the Arain people originally came from.
- Some people believe they might have arrived in India around the year 713 AD. This was with a famous leader named Muhammad bin Qasim al-Thaqafi from Arabia.
- Other people think the Arain are connected to the ancient Aryans. They believe the name "Arain" might even come from "Aryan."
- Older stories suggest that the Arain originally came from Iran.
Famous Arain Families
One very well-known Arain family in the Indian subcontinent is the Mian Family of Baghbanpura. They live in the city of Lahore, which is in Pakistan.
